Oticon Wax Filters & Guards
Oticon uses three wax guard systems — ProWax miniFit on current miniFit receivers, ProWax on earlier models, and NoWax traps on older aids. They are not interchangeable, so match the system your receiver takes. A blocked filter is the most common reason a hearing aid sounds dull or cuts out entirely.

Frequently asked questions
Which Oticon wax filter do I need?
ProWax miniFit is the current filter for miniFit receivers, ProWax fits earlier Oticon receivers and NoWax traps fit older aids again. The name is printed on the wheel your existing filters came in — match that rather than your hearing aid's model name.
How often should I change an Oticon wax filter?
About once a month as routine, and immediately if the aid goes quiet or dead. People who produce more earwax may need to change weekly. Each wheel holds a set of fresh filters plus a tool for removing the old one.
My Oticon has gone quiet — is it the wax filter?
It very often is. A blocked filter is the single most common cause of a hearing aid sounding muffled or stopping altogether, and changing it takes under a minute. Try a fresh filter before booking a repair.
