Phonak has used several dome systems over the years — the original Smokey domes, SDS 4.0 on slim-tube fittings, and the newer EasyGuard vented dome. They are not interchangeable, so match the system your receiver uses rather than the model name of your aid.

Which Phonak dome do I need?
It depends on your receiver, not your hearing aid model. SDS 4.0 domes fit slim-tube fittings, EasyGuard domes fit the newer receiver with the built-in guard, and Smokey domes fit the original design. The easiest check is to compare against the dome currently on your aid.
Do Phonak domes fit Unitron hearing aids?
Yes. Unitron and Phonak are both Sonova brands and share the same receivers and dome systems, which is why several packs are labeled for both.
How often should Phonak domes be replaced?
Roughly every one to three months. Replace sooner if the dome is torn, discolored or has lost its springiness — a stretched dome can work loose in the ear canal.
